1. Introduction

Welcome to Shiplyne (“we”, “our”, or “us”). Shiplyne is a USA-based international shipping and package tracking platform. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.

By accessing or using Shiplyne at shiplyne.online, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Shipment Data: Sender and recipient names, addresses, postal codes, and package descriptions entered when creating a shipment.
  • Tracking Queries: Tracking numbers entered on the tracking page to look up shipment status.
  • Admin Account Data: Email address and hashed password used to authenticate platform administrators. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
  • Usage Data: Standard web server logs including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps for security and performance purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Shiplyne shipping and tracking service.
  • Enable recipients and senders to track packages in real time.
  • Generate and display shipping labels for print.
  • Authenticate admin users securely.
  • Monitor and improve platform performance and security.
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations.

4. Data Storage & Security

Shipment and admin data is stored in a secure Neon Postgres serverless database hosted on AWS infrastructure with SSL/TLS encryption in transit and at rest. We implement industry-standard security practices including:

  • SHA-256 password hashing with unique salting.
  • HMAC-signed session cookies (HTTP-only, Secure, SameSite).
  • Encrypted database connections (SSL required).
  • No sensitive data exposed to client-side JavaScript.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We use Neon (database), Vercel (hosting), and related infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or government authority.

6. Cookies

Shiplyne uses HTTP-only session cookies solely for admin authentication. These cookies are not accessible to JavaScript and are not used for advertising or analytics tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this will prevent admin functionality.

7. Data Retention

Shipment records are retained in our database for as long as they remain active in the system or until deleted by the platform administrator. Admins may delete individual tracking records at any time via the admin portal. Once deleted, records are permanently removed from our database.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:

  • The right to access personal information we hold about you.
  • The right to request correction or deletion of your data.
  • The right to object to or restrict processing of your data.
  • The right to data portability.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@shiplyne.online.

9. Children's Privacy

Shiplyne is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
